A great turn out (15 members( for the set up made this an easy task this year. Once again the show looks great, so congratulations to all members who provided prints for this annual event.

It was a great presentation because it is good to know the judges' criteria when looking at photographs, especially for CAPA competitions.

A group of 8 members succesfully completed the Lansdowne framing for nearly 100 images in under 3 hours. Great team work made this a breeze and allowed time for a leisurely lunch at the local Golden Arches bistro (see BDP's photos). Well done all!

Beautiful morning light, a skiff of snow on the ground and no cold breeze made for a pleasent sojourn around Steveston fish docks, Britannia Haritage shipyards and Garry Pt. park. Only 3 members had signed up for this field trip and it turned out to be a solo effort for me as my two colleagues didn't make it. You missed a pleasent outing.

Excellent. It was obvious that Mr. Keen did a lot of preparation and is well-versed on the topic. A very good presentation supported by a lot of examples.

Short simple and to the point of interest. No heavy technical stuff that nobody really cares about.

Most items were rather basic. Would have liked more info on how to use layers effectively and all the different types of layers.

The first couple of hours were busy but slowed down for the last hour. The boardroom was fine for this vent except its location is somewhat hidden. Quite a few attendees brought cameras, had chance to chat with club members about their challenges as beginners in the digital world. Some expressed interest in attending a Club meeting.

Allen gave the Club an excellent overview of the essentials for obtaining a better photograph. He skillfully compressed two hours or more of information into the 90 minute time slot and gave everyone in attendance some valuable "takeaway" tips to hone their skills. Superb images and the techniques used by their makers hi-lited the key factors that can be used to take an image from good to great. Thank you and well done, Allen.

This was a real fun event. Glad I didn't miss it. Congrats to the organizers for a job well done; your hard work showed in how well you had organized this. The devil is in the details with activities like this. In fact I would say everything was hunky dory (in-joke for the organizers). The group lunch at Boston Pizza afterwards was a great way to share about the "fun of the hunt". Let's do it again next year!

I had two thoughts - maybe it could have been emphasized that we had only an hour and a half? The first part needed to be shorter. Secondly, it was very hard to hear in that room, especially when she was sitting down. Could we again pursue the idea of amplification for speakers? We can't axpect our guests to have to yell when presenting to us. Otherwise, it was a very good presentation, very worthwhile. Ann

Thank you, Brian G., for your "in depth" (pardon the pun) session on depth of field. It was very helpful. Now, if only I could remember it all once I am out in the field!!! I was also impressed with Heather's comments in the evaluations. Clear and concise!

This was a 5-star event thanks to all Club members who volunteered their time prior to the event as well as on the big day. Special thanks go to two members for all their hard work behind the scenes - Tom Robinson for skillfully managing all the Club print entries ready to show and to Brian D for his spotless attention to details as the Challenge Coordinator. This made the Challenge run like clockwork........! We seem to get better every year!!!

One of the best evenings of the Club year with excellent presentations from Tony and Rick. Lots to take away from both presenters on the two opposites of photography - macro and scenics.
